Ever meet someone in the
course of your day who went out of his way to be courteous or
helpful? Know someone who exemplifies the 6 Pillars of Character:
Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and
Citizenship? Ever wonder what you could do to show them that their
actions make a difference?
CHARACTER COUNTS! Akron
wants to help you recognize others for their character choices.
Random Acts of Character token project celebrates those acts of
good character that help to make our community a better place.
How do you participate?
Call, email, or stop by our office to request wooden tokens used to
thank recipients for their choices. Then, simply look around your
community. When you see someone practicing good character, give
them a “token” of your thanks. Tell them that you appreciated their
actions and ask them to pass a token on to someone they value.
Finally, go online at
www.charactercountsakron.org/RandomActsRegistration.htm
and register your participation. Write a few lines about the person
and the reason that you awarded your token.
Have a business,
organization, or club and would like to participate? Give us a call
to talk about additional recognition opportunities.
Our goal is to find 3000
people from October 1st, 2004 through October 31st,
2005. Help us to celebrate character in our community throughout
the next year!
